The Blackwell Burke Bair™ Hugger team was recently named one of Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year. The team was honored at the Minnesota Lawyer awards event in early February for their work on the federal Bair Hugger™ Multidistrict Litigation (MDL), in which they won the dismissal of one of the ten largest MDLs in the country.
In August 2019, Blackwell Burke won a landmark victory for 3M Company, with the MDL court dismissing more than 5,000 cases against 3M. Measured by the number of cases dismissed, the firm’s summary judgment win represented one of the largest-impact defense wins in history.
“We are honored to be recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as Attorneys of the Year for our work with 3M Company,” said Partner, Corey Gordon. “This was a huge legal victory for our client. We are proud of our team and the strategy we put into place that led to this historical win.”
Firm Founder, Jerry W. Blackwell, led the Bair Hugger defense team, which includes partners Benjamin W. Hulse, Mary S. Young, Corey L. Gordon and Deborah E. Lewis; special counsel Micah M. Hines; associates Charmaine K. Harris, Ted Hartman, and Amarachi Ihejirika; and paralegals Katrina St. Clair, Desweon Hinds and Jallison Hubbard.
