Peter J. Goss Applies the ‘Checklist Approach’ to Experts at Minnesota CLE

On December 16, 2014 Peter Goss served on the faculty of A Checklist Approach to Civil Litigation at the Minnesota CLE Conference Center in Minneapolis.  The program follows the observation of Atul Gawande, surgeon and author of the best-selling book The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right, that “checklists seem able to defend anyone, even the experienced, against failure in many more tasks than we realized.”  In his presentation, “Eight Keys to Working with Expert Witnesses,” Goss discussed best practices for selecting and preparing expert witnesses to testify at trial.  A video replay of the program will be shown on January 6, 2015 at the Minnesota CLE Center.

Mr. Goss focuses his national practice on pharmaceutical and medical device product liability litigation and toxic torts. He has represented major pharmaceutical, medical technology, and chemical firms in hundreds of cases. Mr. Goss, who has won several published Daubert decisions, often serves as “science counsel” in life sciences litigation. He collaborates with leading experts to present complex medical and scientific evidence, both in dispositive motions and at trial. He is a frequent commentator on scientific evidence and legal developments of interest to FDA-regulated industries.
