On Monday, September 23, firm founder and chairman Jerry W. Blackwell and associate Adebisi A. Wilson will participate in a seminar entitled, “Avoiding Trial by Fire: Interactive and Illustrative Trial Tips from the Experts.”  Mr. Blackwell will be joined by co-panelists Chief Judge Michael J. Davis, U.S. District Court District of Minnesota; Joseph M. Fasi II, Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP; and James Joslin, Chief Litigation Counsel, Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions.  Ms. Wilson will moderate the panel.  The interactive presentation is a fresh approach to a topic that can strike fear in the heart of any successful and talented lawyer: trial.  In-house and judicial panelists will present trial tips from their own unique perspectives.  Law firm presenters will present a mock opening.

On Tuesday, September 24, partner Benjamin W. Hulse will present on, “Best Practices and Strategies for Managing Discovery in National and Multi-Forum Parallel Litigation.”  Mr. Hulse’s co-presenters include Marguerite Zinz, Thacker Martinsek LPA;  Ani Gulati, Chief Litigation Counsel, General Mills, Inc.; and Kathy DiGiorno, Senior Legal Director, Medtronic, Inc.  This CLE will address common issues that arise for businesses facing national litigation and provide strategies and best practices for the business and its counsel in managing national discovery, document preservation issues, cross litigation document management, and spoliation.
