Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession, has been publishing the list yearly for more than 30 years. Selections are based entirely on peer-review evaluations, with more than 8.3 million nominations analyzed for 2020. It is intended to capture, as accurately as possible, the consensus and opinions of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical area and legal practice area.

Best Lawyers has recognized Jerry W. Blackwell since 2014. He serves as national and trial counsel for several major corporations and has litigated in federal and state courts in 47 states and internationally. In the past year, Mr. Blackwell was instrumental in resolving major litigation for CenturyLink in addition to securing a summary judgment victory and ultimate dismissal of a federal MDL of more than 5,000 plaintiffs for 3M.
Corey L. Gordon is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice includes products liability defense, class action defense, toxic and environmental torts litigation, commercial litigation, appeals and other complex litigation. Mr. Gordon is a frequent speaker at national CLE programs. He recently played a difficult expert witness and provided valuable insights on handling difficult witnesses in a mock expert examination presentation on the packed program of @ConsumerBrandsAssociation’s Legal Forum 2020; the preeminent annual gathering of consumer-packaged goods legal professionals, in Rancho Mirage, California.
Benjamin W. Hulse focuses his national practice on class action defense, mass tort defense and commercial litigation. Mr. Hulse is an accomplished class action defense lawyer who has helped build Blackwell Burke into one of Minnesota’s go-to class action defense firms. His many accomplishments include drafting the Minnesota chapter in the American Bar Association’s Practitioner’s Guide to Class Actions (2d ed. 2017).
