Blackwell Burke P.A. partner Corey L. Gordon will present at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) 2012 Food Claims & Litigation Conference: Navigating Change in Food-Related Litigation. The GMA Conference is being held February 21-23, 2012 in Dana Point, California. Mr. Gordon’s presentation will take place on Wednesday, February 22. The GMA is the main trade group of the food industry. Its members include the makers of food, beverages, and other consumer products.
Mr. Gordon’s presentation is entitled, “Update from the Frontiers of Junk Science: The Latest Law and Latest Trends.” His presentation will focus on “junk science” issues that are affecting the food industry or could affect it in the near future. This will include an overview of recent Daubert decisions and their potential impact, an update on recent claims against the industry that are in some way unusual or novel, and predictions on how junk science may be used to attack the industry in the future.
