Since its 2014 launch, the Minnesota Mother Attorneys Association (MMAA), founded by Blackwell Burke P.A. attorneys Mary S. Young and Adebisi A. Wilson, has made its mark in the Twin Cities legal community. MMAA now boasts nearly 100 members striving to bring to life the organization’s mission of promoting the professional development of mother attorneys by capitalizing on the special opportunities and skills that arise from motherhood to drive career excellence. “The intersection of motherhood and the practice of law creates many common experiences, and there is momentum that comes from building on that commonality. The goal of MMAA has always been to capitalize on our shared experiences in order to help reimagine and define what success looks like in our legal community,” says Young. Wilson adds, “We want to create meaningful programming on issues that matter. What better way to do that than by taking a diverse group of women who might benefit!”
